As a former hostage negotiator with over 20 year’s experience, Duncan Jarrett has a proven track record in dispute resolution. He has a calm relaxed manner that belies a resolve, determination and integrity that has been refined from the experience of negotiating the safe release of hostages in countries such as Afghanistan, Chechnya, Yemen, China, Asia, West Indies and Peru.
He has lectured extensively nationally and internationally, on subjects such as ‘Active Listening’ and ‘The Psychology of Influence’ to a wide diversity of audiences including the International Bar Association annual conferences in Madrid and Vancouver. Duncan regularly mediates has a proven track record in conflict resolution across a number of sectors.
Duncan Jarrett is a trained CEDR mediator. CEDR is accredited by the Civil Mediation Council as a Commercial and Employment mediation provider and fulfils the Council's set standards of training, CPD, and administration and is endorsed by other respected bodies.
Duncan is a member of ADR Net which offers a unique environment where mediators can develop their specialist skills by being part of a thriving and active network of like-minded colleagues
In the community, Duncan is Vice-Chair of Mediation Hertfordshire. A non-profit making company with charitable objectives that provides an independent, confidential and impartial service to resolve conflict disputes in the community, in the workplace and in school settings.
