Crisis, Risk & Security
Cross-sector Safety and Security
During the summer of 2012 the eyes of the world were focussed on London as it staged the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Few businesses in London were going to be unaffected by the games and it was paramount that safety and security implications were considered – from the security of premises through to the safety of individuals as they moved around the City.
To enable companies to have the information they needed, when they needed it in the lead up to, during and after the games the Cross-sector Safety and Security Communications (CSSC) group was formed. The aim was to bring together the Police, Government and Industry and we hold membership of the executive board and lead on the security sector for the CSSC. The CSSC has Olympic legacy benefit and is to be introduced across other UK cities. We will be continuing our work with CSSC, which is now a registered charity, to make our cities even more safe and secure.
